American Legion Post 288 is celebrating 90 years as a charter, about 80 of those years at 4011 La Crescenta Ave. On April 9, 1924, Verdugo Hills Post 288 of the American Legion was chartered by the national headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind. The American Legion movement was barely four years old and growing by leaps and bounds across the country.
