The American Legion Oxnard Post 48 received its charter in 1919 and was originally called the Ventura County Post 48.
- The American Legion membership is comprised of war time, honorably discharged veterans and active duty members of the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard who served at least one day of active duty during a time of war.
- Our Legion family includes members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders
- The American Legion Riders are made up of current members of The American Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion who like to ride motorcycles as an ideal way to support The American Legion's programs.
