Welcome to the official website for the Laguna Council 11236 & St. John Paul II Assembly 3504, Knights of Columbus. We are a fraternal Catholic service organization serving our loving God, the people of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove.California, our local community, and our brother Knights throughout the world.As a Catholic service organization, we provide volunteers to help the various ministries and activities in our Parish. We also raise funds that we use to support worthy charities both locally and nationally.
- The Knights of Columbus was founded in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882 in the basement of St. Mary's Catholic Church by Fr. Michael J. Mc Givney and a handful of Catholic men.
- The aim of the founder and those first members was to set up a parish-based lay organization that offered insurance benefits.
